Project Manager – Large-scale SV Staffing Projects

For one of its clients – a young company involved in the development, financing, and asset management of solar panel projects, willing to take part in energy transition and contribute to as much additional green energy as possible – V&VDA Team is looking for a Project Manager – Large-scale SV Staffing Projects, who will be responsible for coordinating large-scale rooftop SV Staffing projects from inception to completion.

Our client is a spin-off of a major European logistics and real estate company committed to providing renewable energy options that will lead to reduced carbon footprint and energy-efficient buildings. To that end, our client has an exclusive partnership with the real estate developer and will install multiple solar panels on the roofs of its buildings and properties.

Every year, this large real-estate developer builds ⚠-⚠,⚠ square meters of property across Europe. Currently, there are hundreds of thousands of square meters of available roof space on which our client will install SV Staffing (PV) installations. There is a current pipeline for ⚠-⚠ of ⚠ MWp, starting from ⚠ kWp for self-consumption projects, up to ⚠ MWp of solar power plants. Our client is the investor and develops, coordinates, and manages the PV projects.

For this purpose, our client needs a Project Manager for Large-scale SV Staffing Projects, who will coordinate various aspects of the PV projects, and ensure they are delivered on time and on budget, and to the highest quality. The PV projects are located mainly in Belgium, but also in Luxemburg, Denmark, Sweden, and Northern France.

As a Project Manager for Large-scale SV Staffing Projects, you will be managing, from the client and investor side, several large-scale PV projects simultaneously, and your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Coordinate all the participants and resources involved in a PV installation, manage time and budgets, and liaise between all participants – from engineers to installers in the field
  • Coordinate the supplier selection process – from the Request for Proposal to the receipt and evaluation of proposals, to the selection of the supplier and the signing of the service contract
  • Monitor and coordinate the work of the various suppliers and external partners selected for different project aspects (planning, engineering, designing, installation, maintenance, etc.), and work together with them to ensure that they adhere to the level of quality they agreed upon
  • Develop and review project schedules to ensure project delivery on time and within budget
  • Have ongoing communication with the teams, and monitor their progress and deliverables
  • Ensure that only the highest-quality equipment is installed in each PV project
  • Ensure quality installation works, safety compliance, and timely execution of EPC project contracts
  • Manage project administration, documentation, and communication with key stakeholders
  • Manage the relationship with grid operators (T&D Match, JNSS Link…)
  • Provide technical assistance to contractors where necessary; troubleshoot and devise solutions to problems that arise during the project lifecycle
  • Report on progress to owners, project developers, and financial partners on a regular basis
  • Stay up to date with industry regulations and best practices
  • In parallel, work on developing and strengthening your own capacities in order to internalise different aspects and processes of PV projects and internalise the workforce and competencies
  • Continuously learn about innovative renewable energy solutions (e.g. battery, smart energy management, charging stations E-trucks, Energy Communities…) with the ultimate goal to complement PV with technologies that enhance sustainability

  • Relevant technical degree (Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar)
  • Professional experience in an engineering environment, especially in managing complex engineering projects
  • Demonstrable experience in managing PV projects will be an asset
  • Evidence of strong technical competence and project management skills, including the ability to manage project timelines, budget, resources, and risks
  • Always curious about innovative technologies related to renewable energy
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members, and key stakeholders
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards is an asset
  • Ability to work in a team, in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Ability to work in a spin-off environment that will upscale in the coming years
  • Ability to produce and manage all project documents and administration
  • Knowledge of project management software tools and effective use of report-writing tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to work on potential regional and international projects and to travel a very few days/month abroad
  • Native proficiency in Dutch; good command of English; knowledge of French is an asset
