Who are we?

CAOS is a restaurant and Mezcal bar offering modern cuisine rooted in Mexican flavor and traditions while celebrating Mexican heritage with local Belgian ingredients. Our menu is designed for sharing and served with our signature Mezcal cocktails. The standard for our dishes is like fine dining, but without the white table linen. Think of Kol in London and Atla in New York. Our beverage program focuses on artisanal spirits and mirrors our cuisine, letting high quality ingredients shine. The restaurant is focused on dining but is flexible enough to gradually evolve into a sleek bar venue to showcase the depth of our hand- crafted beverages in a lively environment where the concept of time becomes nothing more than a fleeting idea.
CAOS is plannend to open in spring of 2024 (May/June) and will be located in the city centre of Antwerp. The maximum couverts for the restaurant will be 50 people.

We are looking for an energetic person who is ready for a new challenge. A person who has a passion for modern restaurants and prefferable a passion for modern Mexican cuisine. You have experience in working in a kitchen and you are interested in managing a small team. Our ideal candidate is somebody that isnt shy to make a jump. If you do not have experience with the Mexican cuisine but you are interested in running a kitchen in a new restaurant and making a name for yourself, don't hesitate to reach out!

What are your responsibilities?

The head Chef runs the daily kitchen operations, collaborating on menu creation, and managing food orders and supplier relations. The chef is responsible to innovate new recipes, maintain food cost within the budgeted range, oversee kitchen hygiene, quality control, staff scheduling, and recruitment.

  • De planning van het keukenpersoneel opstellen volgens de verwachte drukte en de voortgang van de voorbereidingen
  • De voedingsmiddelen controleren op versheid en bereiding
    Stalen nemen voor de hygiënische dienst
  • Gerechten uitdenken op basis van seizoensgebonden ingrediënten, beschikbaar budget, ...
  • Recepten opstellen voor de gerechten (ingrediënten, hoeveelheid, prijs, ...)
  • Het naleven van de werkprocedures en de regels voor hygiëne en voedselveiligheid controleren
  • Menu’s opstellen
    De tarieven voor gerechten opstellen
  • De activiteiten van het personeel controleren
  • Leveranciers of dienstverleners selecteren
    Onderhandelen over contractvoorwaarden
    De geleverde diensten of producten controleren
  • Het budget van de keuken opvolgen (omzet, ratio, marge, ...)
  • De bereiding van de gerechten superviseren
    Het dresseren en de opmaak van borden of schalen uitvoeren of controleren
  • De voorraad opvolgen, tekorten vaststellen
    Bestellingen plaatsen
  • Personeel aanwerven en ze de richtlijnen van de organisatie aanleren
